I am a rising senior in high school who will be one of the captains of the Stillwater Varsity Figure Skating Team. We perform at our school’s varsity hockey games and volunteer in the community. I am also a local Learn-to-Skate coach at the St. Croix Recreation Center and help coach and choreograph the annual spring ice show. I love competing showcase skating because it allows for creativity with skating skills plus I get to interact with the audience. My favorite event is comedic, because I can show my quirky and hilarious personality on the ice.
Besides figure skating, I participate in Chinese classical dance with Phoenix Dance Academy and have been dancing for eight years. In school, I am the Social Media Editor-in-Chief for the school’s student newspaper and manage the social media platforms. I am also the telecommunications manager of the Student Leadership Council which works alongside school and district administration to make school more equitable and safe for all students. In Kpop club, I am a designated dancer performing at various talent shows. I play the violin in school with the Varsity Orchestra and outside of school with the Cavalino Chamber Orchestra, both of which perform at various venues in the community.
